This year, CCARS received permission from the Camden County Emergency Management Team to use their shiny new, comfortable Emergency Operations Center located in Kingsland Georgia. While one group of club members worked in the oppressive heat and humidity to mount the the tri-band yagi on our club trailer tower, string a multi-band dipole in the trees, and route coax indoors, another team was busy setting up transmitters and computers in an ad-hoc network (for centralized logging). Several strong thunderstorms caused delays in both set up and operating time, but the team pressed on, operating all night as a category 3F station. An excellent pot-luck meal was prepared and delivered by family members. We are already making plans to return next year!
